MATEUS

Aires Mateus Studio, based in Lisbon is dividid into 2 locations: one with Francisco Aires Mateus and another with his brother, Manuel Aires Mateus.

Both work on the same projects, as a partnership and I, personally, had the opportunity to work for both brothers in different times in my life. First as an intern for Francisco, and later as a Junior Architect for Manuel.

Projects arose from different locations within the small scale of the studio, but it gave us, the Architects, the opportunity to develop skills in different kinds of projects, different scales and responsabilities.

Started with helping to set a lifetime exhibition for Aires Mateus works, at Centro Cultural de Belém, in Lisbon, but meanwhile working and participating in all different kind of Projects and Competitions. 

In 2007, after more than 2 years of collaboration, I set the goal to move to Spain, once again, to try new ways of working, living and enjoying Architecture.
